About FWAG in Northern Ireland

Hello and welcome to the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) in Northern Ireland. FWAG has been established in Northern Ireland since February 2004. Our office is situated in Magherafelt's aptly named Rainey Street.

FWAG’s Aims vary somewhat through regional differences, throughout England, Scotland and Wales however we are steadfast on the part that sustainable farming plays, within the precious habitats of our countryside.

Our Environmental Aims:

  • Supporting sustainable livelihoods for farmers while maintaining good agricultural and environmental conditions.
  • Encouraging the maintenance of the countryside’s habitats and looking to enhance its biodiversity.
  • Recognising the need for a thriving rural economy, to sustain a way of life, it’s heritage and our culture.
