This year's FWAG Cymru - National Grid Silver Lapwing Farm Conservation Competition was launched by Roger Williams, M.P. at a reception on the FWAG Cymru stand at the Royal Welsh Show on Monday 20 July 2009. The award promotes environmental best practice in the commercial farming sector, and entries are invited from all farmers in Wales. There will be 3 regional awards, one each for north, mid (Powys & Ceredigion) & south Wales; and an overall Wales winner. Each regional winner will receive a cheque for £200 together with a FWAG Cymru - National Grid Silver Lapwing farm gate plaque. The overall Silver Lapwing Award winner will receive a further £600. The awards will be presented at the Royal Welsh Winter Fair. Application forms are available from the FWAG Cymru office on 01341 421456, cymru@fwag.org.uk or can be downloaded below.
